Participant/Volunteer Safety & Etiquette

As the Run2Believe Winnipeg is fast approaching, we just want to remind our participants/volunteers some of safety/etiquette information regarding the event.

  • There is a limit of 500 participants in total for the 10K and 5K events.
  • Children under the age of 13 years must be accompanied by an adult throughout the entire event route.
  • This event offers a scenic but slightly challenging course run on the urban trails of St. Boniface and The Forks in Winnipeg. The terrain varies from hard surfaces to loose gravel with uneven footing possible in some locations. Note that the even course includes stairs and/or access ramps along the way.
  • Please wear your bib on the front of your clothing and in a visible spot.  For the safety of all participants, bicycles, roller skates, roller blades and pets are prohibited from the event course. Walkers or runners accompanied baby strollers are allowed only on the 5 Km course and will permitted at the back of the pack to ensure the safety of nearby participants.
  • The course is not closed to the exclusive use of event participants.  Please follow the signage on the course and/or instructions provided to you by our course marshals.  In some areas, drivers may need to cross the race course in order to proceed in or out of their neighbourhood.  Our course marshals will do their best but event participants are expected to obey the rules of the road and all traffic signage.  Pause at intersections, stop for traffic lights and stay alert to drivers.
  • If you choose to run with an electronic device, it is  your responsibility to be alert and aware of running conditions and hazards on the course.  Please keep the volume sufficiently low to allow you to hear verbal instructions from our course marshals.
  • We ask that you DO NOT litter on the course.  Wrappers/garbage may be dropped at designated water aid stations and at the start/finish line in the appropriate receptacles.
  • The course will close 2 hours after the start time.  The course closing vehicle is a signal to our volunteers to close down the water aid and medical stations.  As the course closing vehicle approaches, you must move off the roadway and safely onto a pedestrian walkway.  We will still wait for you at the finish line to cheer you in, and you are welcome to join us for breakfast!
  • Use the course maps to help your family and friends find a great viewing spot to cheer you on.  We welcome their participation as spectators.
  • This is a fun run.  Please help to keep it that way.  Take the time to wave and thank our volunteers.  We are all working hard to make this event a positive experience for you.
