Over the next several weeks, we’ll be featuring members of the Committee. Get to know who we are and why we are involved in this event.
Greg - Course Captain
I’m the Course Captain for Run2Believe Winnipeg. My name is Greg Jabusch. I retired from the Canadian Forces in 2005 after 23 years of service and then took on my most important role as Mr. Mom to our now 17 year old daughter, Rylee. Volunteering is part of who I am. Whether collecting items for overseas orphanages, fundraising for the parent/teacher council, or coaching a youth soccer team; I am happy to help. My longest volunteer commitment began in the summer of 1997 with Habitat for Humanity, helping to build affordable homes for low-income Winnipeg families. Both volunteering and running in Winnipeg have a way of bringing old friends together and helping to make new ones. Did I also mention my wife is the Co-Race Director? Not volunteering wasn’t an option.
Run2Believe Winnipeg is about the urban trail experience. The course includes parts of the Riverwalk with panoramic views of St. Boniface and the Forks. For some Winnipeggers this may be their first introduction to the French Quarter of the City and Whittier Park, the official home of Festival du Voyageur and Fort Gibraltar. I think I’ve created a course that is safe but challenging, scenic and steeped in Manitoba history. Happy running and do join us in September!
